Thought Thought (Day 30 - 30 July 2013)
by using the negatives as a stepping stone. |
Once there was this little boy who loved nature and always day
dreamed. He was slow in picking up speech but always dreamt about how the world
works, even while at school. His teachers thought he had ADD (Attention Deficit
Disorder) or autism since they found him lost in thoughts most of the time and did
not respond to them. He was deemed not coach-able and was sent home.
His mom home schooled him and helped him focus on his weaknesses
to change them into his strengths. Realising how a compass fascinated him, she
worked with him on understanding magnetism. He was hooked to it for life. He
started working on his imaginations, what people believed to be hallucinations.
All his imaginations, confusions and thought experiments uncovered the truth of
relativity.
He is Albert Einstein. All his “positive” outcomes emerged from
developing what others called “negative”.

Thought Thought (Day 26 - 26 July 2013)
You never know how much you can achieve. |
This is the story of one Mrs. X, who showed me what being
strong was worth.
Mrs. X - a pampered, just educated enough to get married to
an eligible bachelor, got married with dreams of “happily ever after”. Yes, she
was blessed with a happy, near to perfect married life, well protected and
taken care of by Mr. X and a son who made their life complete. You know how
life throws curve balls when least expected? It happened to them as well. One
sunny day, Mr. X just did not wake up. The whole world turned topsy-turvy for
Mrs. X. A demanding toddler to care for, not enough bank balance, absolutely no
exposure of the world outside, and no job meant apocalypse to Mrs. X. What
little self-confidence she had running the household vanished.
Friends and relatives did support them for few days; but,
what next? Call it fortunate or unfortunate - Mrs. X was offered a job in the
same department as of Mr. X, since he had worked for the government during his
demise. Fortunate - a source of income; Unfortunate - Mrs. X had absolutely no
'professional' skill set; or was used to take orders; or had the exposure of
being in the same room with people other than her immediate family.
This is when the strength she never knew she had kicked in
with all its strength. Being strong for herself and her kid were the only thing
she was left with. She walked up to face the world with all her might and never
looked back. Her strength has not failed to rub on her kid as well that it is a
pleasure knowing them and taking inspiration from their lives.
